Other Activities
Early risers have been known to jog along the Thames towpath before the morning lecture. Frisbee games and other informal athletic contests are organized. Students play games and cards. They can also use the College gym. In and around the serious mathematics, there is a good deal of fun and, at times, some silliness. Old traditions are honoured, and new traditions are created.
Counsellors and faculty plan activities which are organized according to demand. These activities are likely to include tours of Oxford colleges, sightseeing around Oxford, and visits to museums. Recent trips have been to London and to Bletchley Park. The counsellors will also arrange weekly 'Friday Fun'. PROMYS traditions include an annual talent show and a film night. However, during the 6 weeks of the programme, participants devote the bulk of their time and attention to mathematics.
